Let’s start with corporate use. If you have a conference room to maintain, you are probably in the market for a large, stable projector, and perhaps a screen as well. It can be big and bulky if it gets you more features, and it should certainly be able to connect with wireless or hard drive data.

On the other hand, if you’re a corporate representative, you might be much happier with a small, portable projector that can be brought to conferences and proposal meetings. If you present at seminars and so on, you can usually count on the location having a built-in screen (although you must always check) but something small and easy to travel with probably supersedes other technical needs.

Classroom use is a major function of a projector. If you’re a teacher or a school administrator, your needs are not quite the same as those of a corporate representative. Price matters a lot, but so does sturdiness, since your projector will be used heavily and may be manhandled by youngsters. You’ll want a well-known and reliable brand, one that you can easily take to any repair shop if need be. You may also need a screen although, since school districts tend to hold onto equipment for a very long time, you may be making the most of an old screen and replacing just the projector.

Finally, you might want a projector for personal use. Although the Kokak Carousel and photo slides are a thing of the past, many families enjoy photo and video sharing and a projector may be just the way to go.
